Pieter van Es

After 27 years and 200 solved murders, one gruesome crime proved too much for Pieter van Es, the Amsterdam Divisie Crime Unit’s top detective.

Pieter moved to Penzance in Cornwall, attracted by the idea of becoming a painter. However, he found himself caught up in a major art scam. Having recently sold his apartment in the centre of Amsterdam, he has moved into a new waterside flat near the harbour in Penzance.

Today, Pieter works as a Private Investigator mainly dealing with day-to-day marriage problems and missing dogs with the occasional spicy case to keep his detective skills sharp.

Pieter is 50 and was married for three years to Hannah. They have a daughter Maria who is currently at university in Utrecht.

His interests are art, walking and cycling and he still follows AFC Ajax’s football matches.
